New Hair!

Per the beginning of Wednesday's post, I have some that I wrote, forgot about, and never posted during the craziness that was the first 4-5 months after Juliet was born. But I'ma postin' 'em now fer yer enjoyin' pleasure! This was almost two months ago now, but you can read a quick "now" update at the end.

As you know if you've been around for awhile, transitioning to two babes under two has been more than a little bit rough. Not bad--just a hard core entry into the throes of mamahood. I'm trying to get into a bit of a routine of taking better care of myself--brushing my teeth more than three-four times a week (I know you just rolled over in your grave and you are very much alive and well, Darla!) has been a start. I'll never wear make-up and do my hair every day but I can at least have the tools to make each cute when I want to! So, it was high time for a new hairstyle--or, as I like to say, new hair time has come!

So they're out of order, but the right pic was my hair mid-summer of 2011; it's even shorter in the back.
The left pic is my hair 18 months later; that's with cutting a good 4" off. It grows super fast!

My rock star hairstylist snuggling my darling girl.

My dream style, courtesy of Vegas' mad skills.

No make-up, but she did a DREAMY job with the color. It's exactly what I
wanted--some "oomph" to my natural color but not so noticeable that I'll
look ridiculous if I can't color it for 3-4 months.

I still love my hair! The color is grown out over a half an inch already but it's not noticeable unless you're looking for it. And seeing the color we went with just makes me excited to professionally dye it again, which I am in a little over a week. Once it's dyed I'll get another bit-more-than-just-a trim in order to keep getting rid of the (foolish) permanent box dye at the ends. If I just cut it all off my hair would be short and I like keeping it longer-ish. I want to get rid of the blackish old dye and then just do minimal trims to upkeep health while growing my hair long. Knowing me I'll get bored and chop it all off but I'm going to do my best to be patient! I will say that this is the first time I have ever dyed my hair and not longed for my natural hair color to come back and that's saying a LOT!
